Pursuit of the Fastest Known Time

Justin, CEO & Co-Founder of Keep Going Athletics, is attempting to run 667.2 miles across the state of North Carolina from Murphy to Manteo in pursuit of an unsupported Fastest Known Time. Covering mountains, highways, coastal terrain, exhaustion, and over 90,000 steps per day, this challenge pushes the limits of endurance, discipline, and mental resilience.

The goal is simple: keep moving forward no matter how hard it gets.

Meet Justin

Justin co-founded Keep Going Athletics after rebuilding his life through years of adversity — from losing 37 pounds following a malpractice surgery to working three jobs in Miami with only $140 to his name. His background in coaching and his own 65-pound transformation taught him how to lead with discipline, resilience, and faith. He rebuilt himself through sacrifice, consistency, and refusing to quit, carrying that same mindset into everything KGA represents today.

Now serving as CEO & Co-Founder of Keep Going Athletics, Justin is using endurance to push those principles even further. Run Across North Carolina is more than a physical challenge. It is a reflection of the mentality that helped him rebuild his life from the ground up: keep moving forward no matter how hard things get.

Through KGA, his mission is simple — remind people that adversity does not define them. No matter where someone starts or what they are facing, they have the ability to rise, rebuild, and keep going.

Why This Run Matters

North Carolina is home to Justin. He grew up in Clayton, attended East Carolina University, and built many of the foundations that shaped the person he is today across this state.
The Run Across North Carolina is more than an endurance challenge — it is a tribute to the place that helped build him.

This run represents legacy, purpose, and proving what is possible when someone refuses to give up. Justin wants his family, future kids, and the people closest to him to always remember what it looked like to fully commit to something bigger than comfort or fear.

But this pursuit is not only personal.

Through every mile, Justin hopes to inspire others who are battling adversity, struggling mentally, rebuilding their lives, or searching for purpose. The run is meant to shine a light on resilience, mental health, discipline, and the power of continuing forward even when life gets hard.

Run Across North Carolina is about showing people that they are capable of more than they believe. It is about creating conversations around mental toughness, perseverance, and community while bringing people together through a challenge built on grit and purpose.

At its core, this run stands for one message:

Keep going.
