Ocean Isle Beach is within easy reach of two major regional airports.

Approximately 45 minutes away

Wilmington International Airport (ILM)
Approximately 50 minutes away

Private and general aviation access is also available through Ocean Isle Beach Airport.

RACE DAY FAQ

What distances are available?

Choose from the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. Every distance takes runners across the bridge and through the coastal setting of Ocean Isle Beach.

How is the race timed?

Official race timing and bib services will be provided by Run the East. Participants will receive professionally recorded results based on their registered event.

Where can I view the course?

The full course map is available above. Review your distance route before race day and follow all event signage, course markings, and volunteer direction while on course.

Will there be hydration and course support?

Yes. Aid stations will be positioned throughout the course with water and electrolytes. Select locations will also offer additional race support as shown on the official course map.

Are restrooms available?

Yes. Portable restroom facilities will be available at the Race Village and positioned at designated locations along the course.

Can I walk the race?

Yes. Walkers are welcome. Participants should remain aware of event timing requirements and follow all instructions from race staff and course volunteers.

Are there age restrictions?

There is no general age restriction. Participants under 18 must have the required parent or legal guardian consent completed during registration.

Are dogs allowed on the course?

No. Dogs are not permitted on the race course for participant and event safety.

Can I change my race distance?

Distance change requests are managed through your registration account and are subject to availability, applicable deadlines, and any price difference or platform terms.

Can I transfer my registration to another runner?

Registration transfer options are managed through your registration account and are subject to event deadlines, availability, and applicable platform terms.

What is the refund policy?

Race registrations are non-refundable. If you’re unable to participate, you may have the option to defer your registration to a future eligible KGA event or transfer your entry, subject to event deadlines, availability, and applicable terms.

Will race day photos and video be available?

Yes. The KGA media team will be on site capturing professional photo and video throughout the event, including the course, finish line, Race Village, and overall race day experience.

Can someone run without an official race bib?

No. Only officially registered participants displaying their assigned race bib may enter and remain on the race course.

How does race pricing work?

Registration uses tiered pricing. Earlier registration offers the best available rate, and pricing increases as race day approaches or registration tiers fill.

Where should I park on race day?

Designated race parking lots will be available for participants and spectators. Event volunteers will be positioned throughout the parking areas to help direct vehicles and guide you to the appropriate location. Detailed parking information and arrival instructions will be shared with registered participants ahead of race day.
